History of Seva Samajik Vikas Sanstha, Satara
Seva Samajik Vikas Sanstha, Satara was founded with a vision to empower rural communities and provide opportunities for education, skill development, and sustainable livelihoods. The founder, coming from a rural background, deeply understood the challenges faced by villages and rural youth, including the lack of institutions for youth development and competitive exam coaching. Motivated by this realization, he decided to dedicate his efforts toward rural development and social service.
Along with two other members representing the Konkan region, who shared a strong commitment to giving back to society, the founders conducted extensive discussions and preliminary work in the social sector. Before formally establishing the Sanstha, they spent 10–12 years gaining hands-on experience in social service and community development, learning from grassroots challenges and opportunities.
After years of preparation and planning, all trustees and members came together to formally establish Seva Samajik Vikas Sanstha, Satara, choosing the birth anniversary of social reformer Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule as the symbolic date for the organization's founding. The Sanstha was officially registered in 2016 with the mission to serve rural and marginalized communities.
Since its inception, the organization has launched a range of initiatives, including:
- Vocational and skill development programs for youth and women.
- Community awareness campaigns on health, sanitation, and social well-being.
- Competitive exam coaching for government, banking, and defense services.
Guided by the principles of inclusiveness, empowerment, and sustainable development, Seva Samajik Vikas Sanstha continues to work toward building capable, self-reliant, and socially responsible citizens while contributing to holistic rural and community development in Maharashtra and the Konkan region.
